Emergency Funding for Students Affected by the LA Wildfire


Last Mile Education Fund is providing rapid emergency financial support to students in Southern California affected by the January 2025 wildfires.  

This opportunity is available to eligible students within four semesters of graduation and Spring term sophomores who are pursuing a computing-related degree in Los Angeles County. 

If you are facing financial challenges due to the recent wildfires in Southern California and need assistance to continue your education, please apply using the link below and mention the LA wildfires in your application narrative. Emergency cash assistance of $595 is available for priority consideration (students may also submit a follow-up application for a larger award as needed). 

Eligibility Requirements: 

The California Community College Foundation (not associated with Last Mile Education Fund) has set up a fund for community college students affected by the fires. Community college students in the Los Angeles area can apply for financial relief here

More about Last Mile Education Fund: 

The Last Mile Education Fund closes critical gaps in financial and career support for financially vulnerable underrepresented students in the “last mile” to graduation, addressing both economic mobility and the diversity and talent crises in tech and tech-enabled sectors.  Since 2020, Last Mile has invested over $11M in more than 9000 individual students, 52% of whom identify as women or non-binary and 63% of which identify as Black, Latino, or Indigenous (BLNA).
