Submitting the right documents the first time keeps your application moving and helps us support more students just like you. Please upload only the documents we request—additional files may slow your review.
What Counts as Proof of Major
We need documentation that clearly shows your current major (and any minors) and your full name on the same page.
When You Might Need to Request a Document
Sometimes there isn’t a single page that includes both your name and your major.
This scenario is extremely common. In this case, you may need to:
Order an updated official or unofficial transcript
Ask your advisor or department for a letter confirming your enrollment and major
Check lesser-known sections of your student portal (degree audit, profile, or registration pages)
You can usually find this information in one of the following:
Unofficial transcript (best option)
Student portal (major summary or academic profile)
Degree audit / academic progress report
Official letter from your academic advisor confirming major/minor if none of the above show it
Your name and major must be on the same page for us to accept the document and keep your review on track.
Common Issues to Avoid
If we requested proof of major, it usually means that either your transcript did not list your major or you uploaded a screenshot of your major without identifying information.
Examples of documents we cannot accept:
A cropped screenshot showing only “Computer Science” with no name
A portal page listing your major but missing your name entirely
A PDF where the major appears, but the name appears on a different page
Checklist
Before you upload, make sure your document is clear and readable and has:
Your Full Name
We need to see your full name on the document to confirm it belongs to you.
Your Current Major
Your major (and minor if you have one) should be clearly listed so we can confirm your field of study.
Both On The Same Page
Both your name and major need to be on the same page so we can approve the document.
