Support for the Financial Variable Standing Between You and Graduation
You have done the hard work. If an unexpected financial setback is standing between you and your degree, the National Math Talent Fund exists to support you in crossing the finish line.
First, know this:
This funding is a gift — not a loan or scholarship.
You do not pay it back.
There is no tax burden.
This award does not reduce your financial aid.
There are no GPA requirements.
If approved, the money is yours to remove a barrier and keep moving forward.
Who Is Eligible
The National Math Talent Fund is designed for students who are:
Enrolled in a mathematics or quantitative science degree program
Have completed at least 50% of their degree or credential program
Are facing an unexpected financial barrier beyond their control
This is not a merit scholarship. It is targeted support for capable students who need a bridge, not a bailout.
How It Works
Awards are typically under $3,000
Funds can be used for whatever barrier stands in your way: housing, transportation, equipment, fees, or anything else
Awards are delivered in days, not months

Your degree is the beginning.
When Delgardo lost his financial aid in his final semester, graduation felt out of reach. As a mathematics student without enough remaining required credits to qualify for full-time aid, he faced paying out of pocket or stepping back from the finish line. A Last Mile award changed that.
Last Mile gave me the chance to finish strong. With a remaining tuition gap I couldn’t cover on my own, I am thankful that their support covered my final semester, allowing me to graduate debt-free as a math major and fully focus on my research projects in optimization and statistical modeling. Because of that investment, I’m able to enter the workforce prepared for a quantitative career and motivated to pay forward the same support to others.
